Our Story
From the very beginning of our journey with Carry The Cross Ministries, God planted a dream deep in our hearts. We longed to create a place where children who are orphaned, at-risk, or in foster care could experience the embrace of a safe and loving family. We dreamed of a farm where broken families could rediscover hope and healing, and where anyone in need of peace, joy, or love could come and find it.
Over the years, the Lord has been shaping and preparing us for this vision. Through community living, we have welcomed families into our home—sometimes with ten or more children under our roof at once. We have tilled the soil, planted community gardens, and shared the harvest with neighbors. We’ve led at-risk youth to farms, teaching them how to care for and ride horses, giving them confidence and joy in God’s creation. We were even blessed with the opportunity to foster a young girl from our neighborhood during a season of brokenness, watching firsthand how love, stability, and prayer can change a life.

As we dug deeper into the needs around us, our hearts were broken. In Kansas, the number of children needing out-of-home care rose from 5,852 in 2011 to 7,233 in 2015. In Missouri, the crisis has grown even greater—nearly 13,000 children today, with more than 2,500 waiting for a permanent home. Behind every statistic is a child longing for stability, love, and family. We could not ignore the call.
Out of that burden, On Eagle’s Wings Farm was born. Our vision is for it to be a fully functioning, nearly self-sustaining farm filled with small animals, crops, and open spaces where children can run, play, learn, and heal. It will be a Christ-centered home of Refuge, Restoration, and Renewal, where children and families are surrounded by love, encouragement, grace-based discipline, family-style living, and the unshakable truth of Christian faith. Whether staying for a short time or growing up in its care, every child will interact fully with the rhythms of the farm—feeding animals, tending gardens, learning responsibility, and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation.
We believe this farm will not just be a place, but a living testimony: a safe haven where broken stories are rewritten, and where children and families discover that with Christ, hope always rises on wings like eagles.
