Shelter

On Eagle’s Wings Farm will be a place where weary hearts find rest and young souls discover hope again. It will be a sanctuary for children walking through life’s storms, a home wrapped in love, faith, and the gentle presence of Christ. Within its fields and barns, laughter will mingle with the sounds of creation, and every moment will whisper a reminder that they are seen, known, and deeply loved.

Here, children will grow not only in skill but in spirit. They’ll learn to care for horses, plant seeds and rejoice in the harvest, create, build, and dream. They’ll discover the joy of working with their hands and the beauty of seeing God’s provision come to life. Surrounded by grace and guided by truth, they’ll begin to see their own lives as a masterpiece in the making, crafted by the One who lifts them up on eagle’s wings.

Leadership & Skills Training

Children and youth will be encouraged to grow in the gifts God has placed within them—whether in sports, music, dance, or any talent that brings them joy. Each day will offer opportunities to learn practical life skills such as cooking, cleaning, caring for others, and facing challenges with wisdom and perseverance. Above all, every experience on the farm will be rooted in the love of Christ, where grace, hope, and faith are woven into daily life through the rhythms of a family, teaching each child what it means to walk in God’s purpose and love.

Mentor Program

Every child who comes to On Eagle’s Wings Farm will be lovingly paired with a trained mentor, someone from the community who chooses to walk beside them as a steady source of encouragement, guidance, and friendship. These mentors will not only help with schoolwork or life skills but will model what it means to live with faith, perseverance, and love.

Through shared experiences both on and off the farm; whether working together, studying, or simply talking about life; mentors will help each child see their own worth through God’s eyes. They will listen, pray, and speak truth into moments of doubt, building relationships that reflect the heart of Christ Himself.

Each mentor will complete a thorough training process designed to prepare them for this sacred role, teaching them how to connect deeply, lead with empathy, and nurture growth in practical and spiritual ways. In this way, mentorship at the farm becomes more than a program, it becomes a living example of God’s design for discipleship, where hearts are restored, and lives are forever changed through love in action.

Parent Connection

Through our journey of walking beside children and families, we’ve come to see that sometimes parents, too, can lose their way in the midst of life’s storms. The weight of worry, exhaustion, and unmet needs can quietly steal their hope. At On Eagle’s Wings Farm, we believe that healing begins not only with the child but within the heart of the whole family.

Our desire is to surround parents with grace and practical support, offering them the tools, relationships, and encouragement they need to rise above the challenges they face. When they are willing, we will connect them with caring mentors, individuals and families who will walk beside them as friends in faith, offering prayer, wisdom, and hands-on help along the way.

Together, they’ll learn what it means to lean on the Lord, to rebuild trust, and to grow stronger through community. Because when a parent finds hope again, a family begins to heal, and that ripple of redemption can change generations.

Building Bridges

One of the greatest gifts On Eagle’s Wings Farm will offer is sacred space; a place where parents, children, and counselors can come together not in sterile rooms, but in the wide-open beauty of God’s creation. Here, the walls are made of sky and trees, and the air itself seems to whisper, “There is hope.”

Instead of sitting across from one another in silence, families will reconnect through shared experiences, learning to ride horses side by side, casting a line into the pond and laughing as they reel in their catch, planting seeds that will one day bloom, or exploring winding trails that remind them life can still move forward. Even the simple joy of climbing onto a tractor or four-wheeler can become a moment of togetherness and trust.

In these everyday miracles, hands working, hearts softening, laughter returning, healing begins to take root. It’s in these moments that walls fall, forgiveness grows, and families rediscover what it means to love, to belong, and to be made new in the presence of a God who restores all things.

Transitional Living Program

As the young men and women of On Eagle’s Wings Farm step into adulthood, they won’t walk alone. When the time comes to leave the farm, they will have the opportunity to continue their journey through a transitional living program; a welcoming four-plex home in Kansas City, Kansas, where faith and family still guide the way.

Within those walls, a dedicated host family will live among them, offering not supervision, but genuine companionship; modeling what it means to build a Christ-centered life in the everyday moments. Together, they’ll share meals, conversations, and prayers. They’ll talk about jobs and budgets, relationships and purpose, learning that true independence grows best when it’s rooted in community and grounded in God’s Word.

Here, adulthood won’t feel like a sudden leap into the unknown, but a steady walk toward confidence, wisdom, and calling; carried by the same grace that first welcomed them home.

Equine Therapy

There is something sacred about standing beside a horse. In their quiet strength and gentle spirit, God seems to whisper lessons that words alone could never teach. During our two years leading an equine program for young men once labeled as “beyond help,” we witnessed transformation after transformation. Hearts once hardened by pain began to soften. Trust replaced fear. Tears gave way to laughter. And in the simple act of caring for these majestic creatures, healing took root.

Each moment spent brushing a mane, giving direction, or simply standing still beside a horse became a mirror, reflecting patience, honesty, and courage. The boys learned to name their emotions, face their fears, and discover that gentleness is not weakness, but strength under control.

At On Eagle’s Wings Farm, we dream of building a Christ-centered Equine Therapy Program that continues this redemptive work, where children who carry heavy burdens can find peace, confidence, and purpose through God’s creation. For in every encounter between child and horse, we see a glimpse of the Father’s heart; strong, steady, and full of grace.
